It was on a beautiful spring day that the first settlers set their roots on the grounds that would soon be known as Calmar, Iowa. Little did they know that their seeds would blossom into the wonderful community which it has become.

The next regularly scheduled council meeting will be on MONDAY, December 1, 2008 at 7:00 P.M.

If you have something to discuss with the council and are NOT on the posted agenda you can be heard from 6:45 to 7:00 P.M. prior to the meeting.

The Public Safety committee recommended the hiring of Dawn Wagner as a Calmar police officer. The City council approved the hiring at their regular council meeting on Monday, November 3rd. Dawn will begin work on November 15th. She will attend the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy beginning on January 5, 2009 for 16 weeks. Welcome to Dawn!
