Lake Meyer
FISHING LICENSES ARE NOW AVAILABLE IN CALMAR AT THE HORSESHOE 106 N. MARYVILLE ST.
This 156 acre park is the County Conservation Board's headquarters. Lake Meyer offers tent & trailer camping, drinking water and showers, toilets, skiing, hiking trails, picnicking areas, lake fishing in a 38 acre lake, boat ramp and a nature center.
The Park is located one mile west off Highway 24 between Calmar and Fort Atkinson. The Lake Meyer Nature Center is located at the end of a dead-end road on the north side of the lake.

COST: All of the activities and programs are free.

FACILITIES: Restrooms, picnic tables, shelters, playground equipment, hiking trails, an interpretive trail, a cross country ski trail in the winter, and fishing in the summer and fall are available.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: About 60 acres of woodland, marsh, stream bank and planted prairie are located adjacent to the Nature Center. Four miles of nature trail wind through this area. Most of Lake Meyer Nature Center activities take place along the nature trails or in the adjoining habitats. The Lake Meyer Nature Center is an A-frame building with three floors. The basement contains a large meeting room, restrooms, and a storage room. The main floor houses the bulk of the nature displays. The upstairs contains a small display area. Picnic facilities with a shelter house, restrooms, playground equipment and a ball diamond are located on the south side of the lake about a mile from the Nature Center.
